Routing

IP packages have to find the "route" to a destination machine.
The way this is done is called routing.

A Machine that has network interface to different
networks is called a router. It connects these networks.
A machine that connects a LAN to the Internet is called
gateway to the Internet.

A router knows where to send and incoming package:
Or to a local machine ( final receiver ) or to an other router.
